"A Kevin Jonas Love Story" chapter 43

Slowly but surely these past couple of days have been better than the past couple of weeks. I had been worried that Kevin wanted to leave me at some point because of all the fighting and all the Nick drama. He's slowly coming back to himself and I'm grateful for that but he's still acting weird sometimes. I hope I figure out why. Today was one of those weird but good days. I went to work and half way thru my day I get a strange phone call from Kris.
Me: *phone ringing* Hello
Kris: Oh my god I have to tell you something only because your always so worried and think that I'm crazy when I tell you these things.....
Me: I think your crazy now will you spit it out already.
Kris: *takes a deep breath* Did Kevin act weird when he came home the other night?
Me: Yeah, when he came home he like walked straight up to me and kissed me without saying anything. He hadn't done that in days. He still wasn't completely himself though. He ate dinner and watched TV and then went to bed and didn't really say much to me still but I got a kiss goodnight.
Kris: Well I shouldn't really say anything but I'm to excited not to. *Joe in background talking, "just say it"* be quiet I'm trying. Joe said that when they went to the store at the mall that Kevin went to the jewelry store and was gone for awhile.
Me: OK, so he's the best man doesn't he have to pick up the rings that you guys ordered?
Kris: uh, wait...Joe did he have to pick up our rings?
Joe: Yeah but it wouldn't of taken him a half an hour to do it. They were already paid for he would have just had to say the name, get it and leave.
Kris: Did you hear all that?
Me: yeah but I think you guys are kinda far out there. I don't see why he would buy me anything let alone try to propose when he hadn't spoken to me in days. I think that that would be the last thing on his mind.
Kris: fine then. We know somethings up. whether you see it or not.
Me: I don't know why you guys are so worried about me with all these wedding arrangements to take care of...*Kevin limps into the office dressed up and he has flowers* I'll call you back he just walked in. *hangs up*
Kris: *to Joe* Ok that was strange. We started to talk about him and walked into the office.
I hung up the phone and looked up at him. He was such a vision of beauty that I couldn't even describe it. The girls at the other desks started to whisper amongst themselves. I heard one of them say "I didn't know he was that gorgeous." Which made me smile. He walked up to me and handed me the flowers.
Me: What are these for?
Kevin: There for you. There my way of saying truce.
Me: Why are you dressed up?
Kevin: I'm here to take you to dinner and if I feeling like a boring date I'll end it with a movie.
Me: *laughs* right now?
Kevin: Good time as any
I almost couldn't look at him. I had to catch my breath every time he spoke to me. I feel like the first time we met without all the secret. I grabbed my jacket and we left. He took me to a wonderful restaurant and then like he said to a movie. On our way home I was driving and I could feel his hand take mine off of the steering wheel. He just held it and then he put it to his mouth and I could feel his soft lips kiss it and then he let it go so I could continue to drive. We got home and I went to get into my PJ's and then I just had to ask.
Me: What's with the romantic dinner and movie?
Kevin: I've been thinking and I never really got to for the lack of a better word properly date you. We were so involved with keeping everything a secret that we never got to do normal date things. I just thought we could start over. We've been fighting so much and I just want that to stop and just start at the beginning. Does that sound OK to you?
Me: I'm good as long as you still live here at the end of the date and your not just dropping me off at my door.
Kevin: *leans down and kisses me gently* Oh god, of course. I wouldn't have it any other way. Your just gonna have to live with the fact that your stuck with me.
Me: I can live with that.
Kevin: Good, cuz I have big plans for us.
