This was pretty much the New York accent of the day among well-heeled, educated, relatively upper class people.

Carnigie began work @ 12 4 $1.20 a week. America's second Industrial Revoluiton aka Gilded Age, was largest period of economic growth in human history thanks to the Tariffs that TR busted.
Unions where formed long before Teddy Roosevelt came to power.
Rockefeller became the richest man of all time AFTER Teddy broke up Standard Oil. ie the bust was a stock split for Rockefeller.
The slave wages were due to lack of a saftey net and bank regulation. 1894 was WORSE then 1929.

Are you actually a descendant of TR?

@Twankiez1019 No, but my great-grandfather actually became good friends with him. He recorded this for him, in fact, when he visited the NABISCO factory in 1912, when running for President in the Bull Moose Party. A week later, Roosevelt was shot in the chest

@44t56 He wasn't in the bullmoose until after he was shot....

@Twankiez1019 I know, it was the Progressive Party, but many people might know it as The Bull Moose, since that was the nickname afterwards. It was still the party that he ran under, just a different name

This sounds British to me. (I am British.) But it also has a slight weirdness to it.

@MissInformati0n Yea, he had a very good upbringing, where civility and properness were taught with extreme importance. However, he still liked a good party when e could go to one
