Yeah, it's REAL annoying because that always appears in every stage if you spend four minutes in it. It used to scare the heck out of my since I didn't realize that at first and just kept dawdling around in each stage. It kinda ticks me off since a few of the stages are quite vast and interesting to explore, yet I have barely any time to do so because of that thing. -_-
Oh. and also, it's nameless. only three or four of the stage bosses actually have any names listed in the original booklet.

Actually, thats not a hidden boss, its more kinda like where the grim reaper appears in persona 3 where u wait long enough, only this monster is unkillable. just wait long enough and it will appear on any stage. i hate this sucka

No problem. A friend and I were getting pretty competitive with it for a while and only playing one credit runs seeing who could get the best score. On the second stage there are a bunch of different paths you can take, some which get you extra treasure(points) and some which just waste time. We noticed that if the music went through 2 loops before getting to the sub boss that monster would come out.

That monster appears in any level if you take too long. As far as I know there's no way to kill it.
