"Melody in Mauve" is a meditative piece by American Composer Richard Purvis.

It is heard here on the Estey Organ in the Masonic Temple, Fort Wayne, IN. The organ is a "luminous" Estey, with lighted pushbuttons to operate the voices.

The organ was completely silent for 30 years, and has been revived, although a full professional restoration is desperately needed if the organ is to continue playing.

This video includes captions by Thad Reynolds, president of Reynolds Associates, Inc., an organ conservation firm that is working with the Masons to save this unique musical instrument.

  • Very interesting.

I'd like to see this in person some day to get a better understanding.

    Thanks for sharing!
