..or should I say "10 coolest psychedelic rock songs from the late 60.s" except "The Doors"!? Anyway there is a rather interesting discussion going on surrounding this video, some people think its crap, while others seems to enjoy it, of course this is only a matter of taste, and to leave The Doors, Jefferson Airplane etc outside the list was not some kind of mistake from me, you could watch and listen to bands like them all over the Youtube, so in my lists I ignore all major acts, as I feel that a lot of great music has been sadly overlooked through the years.

  • @327409427 I know well by now that this list is not for everyone, but to call bands like Quicksilver Messenger Service, The Illusion and HP Lovecraft “pure junk” proves that you are a musically retarded clown.

  • @327409427 YOU ARE GAY

  • The beginning and middle are good, but it is missing The End.

  • Obviously this isn't to everyone's taste (and I don't want to spoil your fun) but it's pretty poor stuff, even for the late sixties. It's difficult to imagine why would anyone want to hear this again.

  • I gotta say this list is quite impressive.

Some great bands I didn't know before.

  • @beatlesfan07480 He clearly stated he is "ignoring all major acts" so why would they be in here??

  • @beatlesfan07480 I do hope this is the first and last time I ever see the name MGMT included within the same post as The Doors and The Beatles :-/

  • There are two levels of psychedelic music. The first level are songs that have vocals in them that pertain to psychedelia i.e.Tales of Brave Ulysses, byCream, Journey to the Center of the Mind, the Amboy Dukes, Good Morning by Steve Miller. The second level is music that actually aids you in intense galactic tripping. This would be Astronomy Domine, The Narrow Way, Saucerful of Secrets, all, of course on Pink Floyds Umma Gumma. If you are tripping hard enough, you cant hear or understand words.

  • As a teen, I listened to The Doors, Beatles, Airplane, Hendrix, The Nuggets and Pebbles compilations etc, but once you've graduate from that stage and if you desire a real trip and you really want to hear mind-blowing Psyche, check out the early Mothers of Invention, The Spoils Of War and The Silver Apples. As far as Neo-Psychedelia, The Olivia Tremor Control and The Circulatory System Have A Peaceful Day All!

  • I think the poster was showcasing the obscurity of the tunes above, compared to the mainstream acts that always come to mind when people think about the 60's, particularly Psyche. The songs listed are Psych Pop and I have to agree with a few people, not my cup of tea but, it's a start for those truly interested in the genre beyond the mainstream shit. I agree with @Victorcorpsebride & @SteveAstronaut. It's about quality not rarity and dare to be different, be weird & ok with it.

  • @beatlesfan07480 mgmt...psychedelic ?? omg to even mention an electronic act of today in a list of legends is soooooo wrong....btw I'm 21=)
