This is almost offensive to have Ford and GM label this as "New engine technology". Mercedes benz has been developed this since 1945 with the crowned jewel of MB's direct injection making the Gullwing (300sl) the fastest production car in 1954 @ 260 km/h (161mph)
Standard TBI is WAAAY more efficient :)

i think what they are trying to show off is the twin independent variable camshaft timing. (ti-vct) rather than the direct injection.

great. a V6. the big engines are always the first to make more efficient. the little 4 cylinders will probably never be direct injected.

TFI is the VW version. They have had this in production a little over a year. Good on ya Ford!
