A Scratch animation done for media course, mdcm2003. An abstract response to Troop's Haunted Weather. Done on flash CS3.
=============
I've responded to text 4. My animation was inspired by the idea of moving water or liquids in response to the Japanese musical instrument Suikinkutsu in the text. The animation contains two reoccurring motifs, the circle and the straight line. While the circle was inspired by water droplets and represents the idea of nature; the straight line represents the mechanical and the man made. This idea sprang again from the Suikinkutsu - the use of human technology to compliment nature to recreate another art form. The animation is then also a comment on the relationships between nature and machine. The way it compliments, balances, merges and sometimes contrasts each other to create different forms. This then relates back to the idea of thought and machines.
