  • Nice setup and what type of mudskippers do you have ?

  • @atlantiselliott

    Thanks :)

They are Asian mudskippers (Periopthalmodon septemradiatus) :)

  • Hi,I enjoyed your video. I have 2 of these same type of mudskippers and am trying to decide if I should get more to have a group of 6. I heard that they can fight and kill each other when there are only a couple. How long have your 5 been together and do you have any problems with fighting? Thanks.

Sometimes one can get a little dominant but they don't get in a bad fight, they just stretch open their mouth towards each other. It's also important to put food in different areas in the tank to make sure everyone gets some food. They love spiders, worms etc, but also artemia, red blood worms etc.

  • hehehe, kule :D

  • @wonni81 Takk :) Dere vurderer ikke akvarium dere da? :)

  • @rakettfua Hadde igrunn ikke vært en dum idè.

Hadde akvarie når jeg var mindre. 300 Liter. Det sprakk når vi var på ferie.

290 liter lakk ut på loftet og gjennom taket ned til stua :S

Hi there! I have four Asian and one African mudskippers in a 200 liter tank. One of the Asians (a male) is pretty dominant but things seems to work out fine if there are enough land areas (rocks, sandbanks, roots etc). I got the African a couple of months ago and he was very shy. I told this to a guy in the zoo and he said that I'd have to get more, because they have to be in a group so I got 4 Asians about a month later. They all seems to get along fine.

I bought a hydrometer to measure the salt content. (Also make sure you don't use regular salt, which can contain additives/preservation). I use to keep my salinity level between 1.010 and 1.012. Some people keep them in fresh water, but I like to add some salt to make the habitant more natural. The temperature is about 25 degree celcius, and I use a top glass to keep the humidity high. I always measure the saltwater in a bucket before I pour it into the tank. PM me for more info.

  • @taylorgilder

Have you had them before? What happened? I'd love to help out.

  • @taylorgilder

Hi! Four of them are Asian (Periophthalmodon septemradiatus) and the one with the orange and black eyes (the biggest one) is an African Periophthalamus Barbarus.
