@TheHatTuba You are correct - one of those many delicate flowers fallen victim to "progress" much like the orchestral F trumpet.

My favourite part of Pictures at an Exhibition. And Pictures at an Exhibition is my favourite musical piece ever... Bydlo is really creepy. Thanks for sharing this! I think this is one of the best versions on Youtube.

you have to post a video of you playing it to compare before you can say you're better.
and secondly, yes Mussorgsky did intend for the biggest sound possibly - on a tenor tuba, not a BBb.
this is Ravel's orchestration, not Mussorgky's original - considering you'd be watching a piano if that were the case.
There is no 'easy way' out of Bydlo
