this is a video of a technique called flash freezing
it involves bringing a liquid, in this case water below its freezing point rapidly. if done with very pure and clean water this will yeild a liquid and only upon agitation will this liquid become a solid

i used Cosco water which seems to be pretty pure

special thanks to gjp studios for the great pictures

  • ya dat cool but can u drink it?!

  • @SpongeDude8 yes its just water....

  • if the bottle had been in the freezer prior for about 3 hours, then what, did you let it thaw out first then hit it?

  • @SndOfSlnc

i just hit it there is no wait time

it ill either work, stay thawed (needs more time), or already be frozen (try another bottle)

You do know that for supercooling not all of the water solidifies right? Only a small fraction of it actually does.

Besides go take a coke bottle and fill it with water and freeze it. The bottles don't even show any signs of stress because they are designed to take it in the event it does freeze.

I always laugh at these idiots who claim sodium acetate. Does anyone realize sodium acetate is way more expensive and harder to do than supercooling?

  • omg, that once happened to me when I took a bottle out of the freezer as it was an extremely hot day. suddenly it all froze in a few seconds I thought that had just been in my imagination or something but now I know I'm sane! Thank you! :-)

  • @SpongeDude8

it doesnt freeze like ice, but slushie

  • Please-oh-Please tell me how u did that :(

  • I knew this was Sarah Brightman! and I love watching these experiments.

  • how do you get it below freezing

  • It does work they even proved in on mythbusters, and no it happends with any water even tap and even any liquid u get it right below its freezing point so typically around 31 degrees, take it out very gently then tape it ona hard surface and it will freeze its called super cooling..

  • @TheTrollKing123 LIKE YOU! haha

  • @Billthecableguy1 No, it happens with pure water that isn't disturbed as it is slowly chilled below the normal point of freezing.
