Tai Chi 42 Forms Part 1 - Teach

Tai Chi: An Exercise in Anti-aging
Tai chi, the choreographed meditative exercises that have been a healing art in China for thousands of years, is practiced by over 100 million people worldwide and owes its popularity to a simple fact - it's enjoyable and it makes you stronger.
Recent studies confirm that when practiced regularly - 30 minutes, three times a week - it has numerous health benefits including: increased energy, decreased stress, an immunity boost against viruses, lowered blood pressure, better cognitive functioning, increased joint mobility, an improved cholesterol profile, relief from fibromyalgia symptoms, and even a better night's sleep.
It also increases leg muscle strength and provides better balance and posture. Perhaps the best part is that tai chi is a gentle exercise that can be performed by anyone at any age.

  • Anyway, i found a full lesson on tai chi chuan through google video. although i have only been doing the warm up exercises and the first lesson, i have found it of great help. It hasn't got rid of my arithitis, it has helped enormously with my stiffness, and made me feel much looser . Yes, i have and continue to do other stretching exercises. BUt this seems to be the one that has helped most.

  • @irish66

Glad to know Tai Chi gives some relieve to your arithitis. When doing Tai Chi, place your tongue in contact with the upper part of your mouth and breath in and out evenly and in a relax manner.

  • Does tai chi have belt ranks like other arts do?

  • No there are no belt ranks like karate or taewondo.

  • I like it. I will be learning lesson for Tai Chi.

  • Hi can you tell me how long it takes to learn the full 42 steps if classes are once a week?

  • I have arithitis in the back. I went to my doctor and he suggested tai chi. Actually years before, I had been doing a particular stance as help with my sarcodosis. I told my doctor about it, because at the time he had the same disease. It was a stance where you stand knees slightly bent, fingers facing each other slighly apart. it did help, but at the time, i didn't keep it up, and found exercising had the same benifit. But my doctor liked it, and did further inverstigation.tbc

  • i have chinese fetish now

  • Muy bueno ,gracias me ha servido mucho

  • For beginners it is a good idea to keep the knees bent minimally, however for those who practice diligently the amount of chi and the ability at which that chi will flow through the body becomes stronger and stronger and eventually there comes a time when you are no longer really controlling your body but it is the chi that helps to move and direct your body. When chi is flowing strongly through the meridians there is a feel to want to root stronger hence the increased bend in the knees.

  • watch those knees, injury may occur if you perform like this.

Never, never let your knees go beyond your toes.

  • Soo SLow, Why So Slow? This cant be natural.
