Paper Boat is an interactive computer vision installation that integrates a baby doll, a fish tank, a paper boat, a computer, a web camera, and human breath to cull memories from the artists childhood hearing his grandmother speak to him when he would take baths. The artists grandmother told him stories of adventure as a ship captain. In Paper Boat, the viewer user is asked to blow the boat with his or her own breath into the center of the top of the tank, colliding with the bubbles from the baby's nose which then triggers the grandmothers voice telling one of 5 of these old fairy tales. Camera is not depicted in the scene, but rather is above the tank in a static mount and detects the boat when it is in the center of the tank.
