@DownUnderDoug - Do it now! go look up a church directory and find a close one. That may not turn out to be the best one for you, but don't give up! God wants you to have communion with the body of Christ. :D

@1978dagreat Amazing Facts? That's where you tell people to get their facts? I'd tell people to read the Scriptures. Keep the Bible open in their laps while Doug speaks and then read the entire chapter that contains the "proof-text" and you will see how out heretical and out of context the Seventh - day Adventist doctrine is. I know was a 4th Generation SDA who left for Christ, was blind but now I see!

Come on Doug and proclaim the fact that this is the work of the Seventh-Day Adventist movement. Why all the prevarication that this is a call to return to Jesus or even a Christian Church. It is to proselytize the work of Ellen G White the SDA prophet and enslave you to a day of worship.

I know things can be really hard, and some trials are so big.

Sometimes God "calms the storms", but somethimes He choose to "calm us". He knows our hearts, and what we need to grow in faith.

Born and Bred SDA till my twenties.I spent that entire time feeling there was something wrong with me as I NEVER got that "feeling" your meant to get, I could never perform the little mind trick on myself they called "faith", though everyone else seemed to do it effortlessly. It was not until I left the church that I suddenly found people I could relate to and who accepted me without needing to CHANGE me.

Moral: never had any faith to reclaim, this world IS my home and I love my life here!

this is sweeping the nation & the world at the grass roots level - doing church the old-fashioned way - making close connections, not just a Sabbath "hi, happy Sabbath, see you next week" experience where no one really connects. I think you might find this worth looking into. Sabbath takes on a whole new, and richer, meaning. Google "simple church at home", or "Milton Adams". This is supported by the NAD, and is growing worldwide as a local (in your neighbourhood) missionary activity.
