This project started from one E-mail from my friend.

Hi Takaya
I hope that all is well with you. i've been reading your Weissraum reports and feeling very nostalgic for Kyoto.

In looking at your reports a thought occurred to me which I thought may interest you. One of my colleagues that I work with here at the university is a very interesting ceramics artist called Chris Powell. He was recently showing me a new body of work which he uses the form of various funnels as the inspiration for small vases. He mentioned that he thought it would be interesting to collaborate with an Ikebana artist, where he would supply the vases and the artist would make arrangements for them. I obviously thought of you and wondered if you would be interested in some kind of exchange. He could mail you a few of these if you were interested to make arrangements and perhaps make a small exhibition. I also thought that the two of you would have many ideas in common as he also makes salt works using dead fish!
I thought this could be a good initiative to start as we could use it as a basis to create an exchange between texas and kyoto, from here we can also think about doing some show in texas with you and other japanese artists.
I'll attach images here, but let me know what you think. it would be nice to form some exchanges
best gavin
