This is some light urban exploration inside the abandoned brick and mortar canyons of Detroit's fringe areas between downtown and the stadium district (Comerica Park and Ford Field). The area that I filmed looked almost untouched by any municipality in years. The alley floors were uneven, strewn with women's high-heeled shoes; the walls were dingy and covered in paint. This is the reality of Woodward Avenue in Detroit at this time (if you are not familiar with the significance of Woodward Ave, her equivalents would be Michigan Avenue in Chicago - the Miracle Mile - or Market Street in San Francisco. The first shot looks down Woodward Avenue towards downtown, the majority of the graffiti is within one block off of the main drag, and the fountain near the end is in Campus Martius Park, which is in the center of downtown, also on Woodward Avenue. The image tritely titled "what a Drag it is" is of Mayor Kwame Kipatrick. Also there is a stencil of our 16th President, Abraham Lincoln, but I am unsure of what VLAD means, perhaps you could post the answer?
