I can't get that low sound out of my bodhran (it was a xmas gift, probably cheap, made in Pakistan). It's tonal range is rather limited.

Karl, please show us when your left hand is flat and when you open it for the downbeat and upbeat exercises. Learning when to use the flat hand versus the open hand for the various sounds would be extremely helpful.
