Should Christians Fear God?

Many people today are familiar with the idea that God is love because Jesus loves us so much to have died for us on the cross. But many at the same time don't understand that God is also to be feared. This theme of the fear of the Lord is found throughout the entire scripture. We need to fear God because we must also understand that He is a holy and righteous judge. This is why we must heed the advice of Peter to conduct our lives here on earth as pilgrim with the fear of God. We must continue to be steadfast in our faith and endure till the end so that we can be saved and enter into the Holy City.

Hi Emmanuel, I appreciate your zeal for the Fear of God. Please revisit your understanding of atonement. Did Christ really die for everyone? If he did pay for "everyone's" sins, then know one should be cast into hell then. He would no longer be a Just God if he were to cast someone into hell with their sin being paid for. If we are to Fear God, then we must proclaim truth set in Scripture through out, not just John 3:16.

@polopowers1 Those in the flesh will have terror when they meet Jesus as their judge. Those in the spirit can appreciate the fate that could have been theirs were it not for God's love and mercy but fear as terror is not something I feel about the Lord.
