Linda Hogan and Terry Daniels of hOur World talk about Time Banks in a presentation for PODER in San Francisco October 11, 2011. Time Banks are a way to get and receive services without total dependence on cash. Their roots reach deep into our history and saved many during the Depression of the 1930's. Time Banks are making a giant comeback- and this time may be here for good!
@Cityweaver The 2-DVD set I was referring to, "This Way Out: A Guide To Starting A Worker Cooperative," would be useful. It is geared to small start-up's (10 or less people) will little, or limited, access to capital. It definitely would be appropriate for high school age students. One of the coops featured in the DVD set is Co-Soap, currently three guys just out of college & doing very well with their cooperative. The DVD's to be out soon, just adding a Spanish translation option to them now.

@JJNoire I'm making a playlist of information from you and others on time banks and cooperatives. I'm very interested in developing business models that use social capital and operate in a more old-school workshop model, stressing on-the-job learning for teenagers and young people.

@Cityweaver You are so welcome! Terry & Linda are also featured in the Funding Your Coop segment of the 2-DVD set that I've just finished, "This Way Out: A Guide To Starting A Worker Cooperative." Working on the Spanish translation & hope to have it available to the public shortly.
