Amazing little man, good technique, I'll try it with my son.

OMG your son is amazing. I cannot believe he is reading at 2! He must be very very smart. My son is also in the spectrum, he is 3.5.

It's so cool to see this. I have twin sons with autism who began reading at two also. They are now four and reading children's books. Their favorite books are by Mo Willems, especially, "Don't Let the Pigeon Ride the Bus." I'm sure your son has really advanced his reading skills since this video! Keep up the great work, what an amazing kid! :)

reading at 2 years old is a pretty normal age to learn reading... and don't most children learn reading after 2 years old??? he's actually pretty good. hey, some authistic children have above average IQs... maybe your child is has above average IQ.

Sorry for the late reply.
"Scripting and script fading" from PCDI is good for understanding fading of scripts.

If I do not give U all U want in answers please go 2 me at my website & ask a more in depth question & I will not fail 2 reply 2 U.
I have personally met all the greats in the field & have even spent personal time w/ many of them outside of speeches like eating breakfast, dinner, or spending time in their hotel room. I have even worked w/ the Koegel's little nephew w/ autism.
Check into applied verbal behavior, PCDI, pivotal response training, & Lovaas 1977 book 4 $10.

WOW that is soo funny! Last night I was doing something similar with him. He LOVES letters we have some letters for the tub, he likes to hold the letters and stim with them. So I took the letter and ask him what color? He kept telling me "K" & I would say What color is the K? after SEVERAL times he FINALLY said "orange" then I said YES! the K is orange! I was sooo exited! This is the 1st time he actually answers a question instead of repeating the question back to me! I am SOO happy!
Thank U!!

Scripting & script fading is a good book from Princeton.
I suggest working on reciprocal speech on a topic. Make a book out of internet pictures & put bunch of pictures on each pg. Each topic on a pg like 4 animals: color, size, pattern, feature, special feature, home, food, number of legs, movement, & speed per pg.
U can turn a pg as a prompt 4 more speech on the topic or take turns talking per pg such that it's reciprocal. If U take the book out of order then U have build in variation.

I will get this book :-)THANK U!!!!! :-D
Logan seems to script (stereotype) more like OCD over & over like to cope with something...
I just haven't figured out why!! I don't know if it is something upseting him, or he is tired, scared or stressed... Sometimes is so obsesive it gets really fast & louder... I want to hurt myself!!(Just kidding);-}
He streotypes ELMO's world a lot...
THANK U for all U'r HELP!

Reading is 1 of the 6 verbal behaviors B. F. Skinner writes about, but U need 2 get language used at high levels in mands where they R completely natural so that he is conditioned 2 see himself as capable in reciprocal speech.
Then U can slowly bring in small %s of tacting & intraverbal speech embedded within the mands w/o losing motivation or behavior momentum.
Cool reading as it's indicative of likely good luck within expressive speech. Just make sure U condition mands highly.

We had to cover the words for a while because he was ONLY reading... I was sad because I was so proud of him reading....
Now he is comunicating a lot more with memorized phrases like "I want juice please" or "I want chiken please" He has them memorized and he will repeat EVERYTHING you tell him echoing every single word... :-(
Now if I can get him to stop scripting my life will be complete!
If you have any imput on that... will be greatly appreciated... THANK U
