JUST A RANDOM QUESTION: If you are caucasian, do you consider an interracial love interest less attractive? More attractive? Or does it not make a difference? Just wanted to know, I don't want to offensive, I just want to get to know the human psyche a little better. :)

Comment and tell me, don't worry I won't be offended. Very random video, but I felt like talking about it...Enjoy, and comment to tell me what you think. I love library sales, they are AWESOME. :P

  • I'm African/Native American and I've read books with interracial dating where the main character is black. But the author was also black. I think most authors write with experience or the story wouldn't flow as well. That or they do a lot of research on the places and people they want to write about. I agree with you where you say its probably more natural for them to write about to someone their own race because they are able to identify with the character they created.

  • @coolkidd151 Thanks for the input, I completely agree. This year, during nanowrimo, my novel's main character was originally Asian. It was pretty involuntary, really, and it makes a lot of sense. But I really do enjoy books with characters from differing ethnic backgrounds, it adds something to the story. Anyway, thanks again!

  • You made some very valid comments in this video regarding the subject and publishing (although I'm half caucasian and much older) I thought I'll respond that when you do come across such books your affinity with the author and reading strengthens. And I agree that its all about getting "to know the human psyche a little better" and when you add interracial elements into the text, it widens the experience even if it does or doesn't reflect your personal situation or demographics.
