Why do these videos have to turn into people's personal arguments? Come on, guys! If you have to dis someone about how they ride, message them personally.
To be on topic, Apollo was an amazing jumper. Though he was on the heavier side, he made up for it with a tight tuck of his front legs and a very strong, solid jump sequence. He also has a beautiful ground covering stride. :)

Panelo.....so let me get this straight, you've never ridden Apollo, never ridden at the Olympic level,...but your going to criticize Nick Shelton...lawd have mercy you got balls. I will guarantee that you would not be able to handle Apollo with your softened and supple approach. These are Grand Prix and Pruissance Jumpers.....the likes of which VERY FEW riders ever get to that level to ride, let alone comment on.

Gorgeous horse, lots of talent. My only complaint is that the rider is really heavy-handed on that bit! Seriously overboard on a delicate part of the horse. If you really feel like you need to work that hard to control your horse, go back to basics and work on exercises to soften and supple up.

what happened to all the natural jumping courses like this their are only 3 i know of La Baule, spruce medows and Hickstead. For me they are more challenging and a bit more of a thrill to watch. just my personal oppinion : )

@maritsada I've had to saw on my pony's mouth once, I hated doing it but he was just trucking me around a course, I have a few blood blisters and my hands were red raw afterwards he was that strong (out of character) I tried just picking his head up and letting him run (don't mind the running, he was shoving his head between his legs). He has a strong bit in as it is, so next time we put a palem on him. It worked to well, went back to his old bit and he was an angel :P
