Model helicopters are exciting and very challenging to fly. The learning curve is steep, but In the challenge lies the reward. Are you up to the task? I am starting this Flight school to help others learn to fly these exciting machines.

  • Hi I love your videos, very usefull, but I did have a minor crash, just main rotors blades damaged, my question is, without knowing I replaced the with shorter blades (from 315mm to 288mm), could this damage my heli (falcon 3D)? it seems to fly well, I did inreased the pitch a bit, though. Thanks

  • Thanks 99Sixer, 288 mm blades will not damage your heli, but it would be more stable with the longer blades. Consider that most of the lift is created by the outside few centimeters of the blade which are travelling faster than the rest of the blade. You shrunk it more than a cm which is why you either had to add rpms or pitch.

I would say fly em if ya got em! Next time get 315 or even 325 blades. The Align woodies are great. I fly frp blades, they can be had for pretty cheep now.

  • do you think a mad hawk 300 is a good beginner helicopter

  • The Mad Hawk looks like a nice starter FP heli. I like how the tail motor drives a shaft. If you have one already then great! Excede has become a pretty good brand.

I personally have never been able to get an FP heli to fly very well.

A good tip is to get a heli that you think you would want in 1 year from now. It will be challenging to get started, but later you will be glad. So you may want to go ahead and get a 3D machine for starters such as the Excede Blue Ray.

  • do you recommend a e sky hunter for a beginner

  • The hunter would be fun, and I started out with a coax once upon a time. It will fly very stable because of the two sets of counter-rotating blades.

The flight school lessons are not intended for coax helicopters, they are meant for single rotor helicopters that are much harder to fly.

0TOM007 is correct that a Honeybee Fixed Pitch is a good beginner single rotor heli.

I actually recommend skipping straight to the Exceed Genesis or some other 450 class heli with 2.4Ghz transmitter.

  • createive

  • how to make helicopter balance when flight it means it stay at the same height

  • Great video. Love the training aids. :)

  • fukof

  • i got the syma s107 s107g on amazon and it is a great little indoor heli... i learned to fly it in about 3 minutes. really steady unlike my first one

    built in gyroscope

fly's great forward and backward... great control

    i recommend it

  • @geneward101 what a dumb thing to say to any beginners watching. I can fly my chopper upsidedown and find it easy, but a beginner would have some trouble I'd wager. You probably have a 20 buck contra rotating cheapie that you pretend to fly around.
