glaucoma is simply the disease of increased intraocular pressure '' pressure inside the eye'' , in this method a star shaped incision is done on the corneoscleral jucnction under half thikness scleral flap" the line between the dark and the lights areas of the eye" that functions as a quadrilamellar valve, to allow a marchaled seepage of the aqueous humor in one direction in/out " where it's absorbed' to adjust a desirable pressure.
one of the advantages of that star shaped incision is that, it has a similar mechanism of action to that of the mitral valve of the heart.
results give a perfect impression, specially in chronic simple glaucoma
