  • And the Mt Everest analogy doesnt fit here. Yes, anyone can try to climb Mt Everest, but not anyone can play behind the 90s Cowboys Offensive Line. While Emmit was good no doubt, he was also lucky that he happen to get a starting spot with Dallas during their dynasty. There were many other good backs in the league that would have put up huge numbers (maybe even bigger numbers than Emmit) had they played for Dallas.

  • And i did play football btw. Four years of tailback in high school and was playing college until I suffered a closed head injury in a car wreck my freshman year

  • @emantabrizi \

i agree, he did quit, and i was pissed. And yes Emmit is a tough guy no doubt. All im saying is that Barry had serious numbers when he was playing, and a ten year career is not that short.

  • @splendid1000 ... You're right, he did retire because his team wasn't winning, which makes me wonder how anyone "with half a brain" could possibly support the guy. He quit on his teammates and his fans, plain and simple. I guess you like quitters.

  • @splendid1000 ... See, there you go again: coulda-woulda-shoulda. I'm beginning to think you never played football. If you did, you would realize just how tough a player Emmitt was to be able to play for so long at such a brutal position. Most running backs don't last more than 3 or 4 seasons in the NFL. Saying a lot of backs COULD have broken the record means absolute shit. Yeah, a lot of people COULD climb Mt. Everest, as well.

  • Alot of backs could have ran for as many or more yards than Emmit had they played behind maybe the greatest O-line in history and then outstayed their welcome in the NFL by playing for 15+ years...thats the ONLY reason Emmit has the most total yards.

  • @emantabrizi

LOL Averages are WAY more important than total yards. Anyone with half a brain knows this. That simply means Barry is a more productive player in any given game. Its not like Barry didnt have a full productive career....he just retired a few years early cuz his team sucked ballz....and thats why he doesnt hold the total yard record as well.

  • @splendid1000 ... Oh, please! The only reason you think that stat means anything is because Barry doesn't hold THE most important record for running backs.

  • @emantabrizi

Yes cuz most people are stupid. I dont care what other morons know, I know what stats are meaningful.
