Heya, sorry if I dissapoint you by not uploading a guitar video, but I thought this could interest you too, it's an sound check.

I just spent 2 hours in my bands rehearsal room to take off all the heads from the bass drum to the toms to tune them completly fresh to sound fat and funky just how I like it!

Don't mind the sometimes sloppy playing I didn't warm up, have fun and enjoy it.

If you have questions just ask, I will answer them as fast as I can.
=)

My Tama Superstar drumset (All from the original Tama Superstar):
20x18 Inch Bass Drum
14 5x5 Tama Superstar snare
10x8 Tomtom
12x9 Tomtom
14x14 Floortom

Cymbals:
14 Inch Paiste pst5 Hihat
16 Inch Paiste pst5 Crash
18 Inch Paiste pst5 Crash
18 Inch Paiste pst5 China
14 Inch Paiste pst5 China
8 Inch Paiste pst5 Splash

7a Sticks used
And I never took lessons.

Thanks
Comment and enjoy. =)

  • dude this is badass tuning, how do you tune your drums? i try and try but i cant get this sound

  • @555broder Hmm, first it depens which heads you use (I use emperors, the bass drum is the stock head that came with the set) and I tune them with my ear, but I took off ALL heads and played around a bit with the tuning! And dont mind overtones, when you play drums overtones just give it more punch and tune all lugs equally and check if they sound OK. You dont need some tama tune watch or anything just use ears :) And tune how you like the sound equally! Thanks!

  • i love bass drum vibrate

  • @ayupan16562 Result of tuning the resonant head pretty low, but not to low!

    Thanks :)

  • Great job! Some skills come from limp bizkit!! Great!

    Kepp' workin!

  • @Vincinho7 Yep, John otto got my attention with his groove, and the china crash combination fits perfectly what I like, sounds exotic. Thanks man, I am getting better and better ;)

  • i have the exact same kit as you and i have bought new heads for all my toms and tried tuning them so many times but cant get them to sound like yours, how did you tune yours? and how many turns tight would you do them? and what heads do you use?

  • @555broder Snare Batter: Medium High, Snare Bottom: Tight, Bass Drum Batter: Lowest Possible Pitch, Bass Drum Front: Let it resonate but not too much, Toms: Tune both batter and resonant to the same pitch. That is pretty much Bob Gatzen's technique, it works for me....

  • May I ask how you got your drums to not be so loud and come off as a nice sound? I'm having trouble with that, they're too loud. Do you use mufflers or o rings or somethign?

  • sick bro!

  • i love it :D mb it's not yet that total crazy but if u are only taking lesson for 3 weeks Oo

rly awesome, keep it on :)

  • @Darkslicer13 yeah I've been taking lessons for 3 weeks ._. lol I suck badly but at least i'm getting somewhere. My main issue is getting my left arm to be even with my right arm in speed and control. As for a style I don't have one because I dont know any.
