Salmon Arriving at Issaquah Fish Hatchery

This was the scene on Oct. 3rd at the hatchery in Issaquah, a small town east of Seattle. The salmon are blocked by the barrier and were scheduled to enter the hatchery through the three gates in the background the following morning. The gates have a fish ladder behind them that the salmon will climb into the hatchery where the staff awaits them to harvest their spawning "materials."
