  • "Can't get what you want by adding more of what you don't want." Interesting...reminds me of a child who wants something but can't have it and throws a temper tantrum. They don't want to be in the throws of hissy fit all they want is whatever they are throwing the fit about but by throwing a fit they will not receive it. Well, at least in my household...you act like that and you definitely will not get what you want! LOL!!

  • Mtamorphis LoL@ "at least not in my house" sounds like something my mom would say. You parents amaze me to no end. Based on my experience with my dog, I feel quite certain that I would be completely bald by now if I had a child.

  • It's not going to be all the time that a group who protests will have the economic or political power to "force" change in that way.Sometimes the mob rules. If you mention the black civil rights movement, then one would have to mention that the movement was almost exclusively funded in the on start by Jewish people. The freedom rides, bus boycotts and legal advice were almost exclusively organized and funded by the Jewish community. This is a hidden fact in Black history, not to be malicious.

  • YogiToad thank you for sharing this learning with me, I wonder if this is a universal principle. Without the help of man germans even more jewish people would have been killed during the big war. Many slaves escaped slavery with the help of many southern whites. Perhaps there is something very useful to learn here. Much gratitude.

  • Very well articulated. I also had some issues with those two protests, but many of the issues that I had, I couldn't articulate very well. You've done a much better job than me.

  • CousinoMacul thanks for checking this out, I must be living under a rock, I heard about these protest but never gave them any attention. There is a hell of a lot going being communicated at these protest. I found a lot more going on here than I talked about.

  • Interesting.

No comment here, just sitting back and taking it all in again.

Okay, I changed my mind. I do have a comment. Nice job of pointing out what is missing in some current protests (although I realize your references here are to specific events). I sometimes wonder what civil rights activists of days gone by would make of some of the current day struggles and demonstrations.

  • You are the most gracious man I know.

  • Hey Kaspar I have been thinking about this for a while now, and I have come to a similar conclusion. What I have noticed is that once a need is met it becomes a strategy which contributes to the meeting of another need. I am wondering if there is a consistent sequence to needs. Very often we celebrate when any need is met, this appears to be a consistent trend. So I am let to wonder what happens after our need to celebrate has been fully met. I am delighted to connect with you about this! Cheers

  • Thanks for this. I'll have a response up soon! :)

  • I really really like your take on responsibility, that to have responsibility is to have power, and to give up responsibility is to be powerless. Excellent words.
