Ya these guys are good all the time and then every here and there they go pure genius. West of Hollywood is up there with Aja and thats no fluke, people. Dig the guitar solo. There arent words in the English lexicon, can I get witness!!! But, and this is a big but, the tag and Chris Potters solo is a masterpiece unto itself. Ooooh, Lawd!

Best song on the album with the walking sax and cascading half-step descending cadences at the end. Makes me think of the characters I met in Hollywood in the late 80's who all seemed to live by the line; "Way deep into nothin' special"

I've seen Steely Dan at Nissan Pavilion and Fagen at the Warner Theatre in DC. Can never get enough. Greatest living songwriting team, in my book. And they attract some of the best session musicians, to boot.
