  • My all time jam. I find myself playing this tune in my head after 42 years and still running.

  • Very Cool! I remember when.

  • damn, what a cool mix of psychedelic, funk and blues in form of jam

Sorry my Brother, Boot was doing his thing way way back. Right on Brewster Ave. as part of the King Records house band. I know who Sly was. I started covering their stuff in the early late 60's. My band was performing on the same shows with Bootsy's first band in 1969. You can't match with me.

Bottom line, Cincy was as funky as any city. Hell James didn't get funky until he let Bootsy and Catfish get loose. You do remember Maceo, don't you?

  • bootsy is also a ex band member of the jb's james browns band and to all my philly folks remember butterballs rap to this song on das fm

  • bootsy is also a ex band member of the jb's james browns band

With all respect, youngster, a history lesson is in order.

Bootsy et. al. followed in the slappin' footsteps of one Larry Graham... The same Larry Graham that's on this track and all of the Sly and the Family Stone tracks that preceded it.

But Sly & company weren't just funk.. they were soul, they were rock, they were psychedelic and they were groundbreakers. Sly pushed more than the musical envelope, mixing genres, genders, colors and styles.

  • Incredible. I bought the album on the strength of Everyday People, but this one took over.

Thing is, it was made in the era of the long guitar solo... ah well, can't have everything.

  • Wish I had a voice box moog machine, this is too good
