Nice quick recovery! It didn't fall on it's back and you were out in a bit over one rotation. If I didn't know better I'd say you were spinning a 150. Is the RV-6 this docile?
If your engine is fuel injected check that the regulator face (has big brass nut on it) is facing to the side. If it is facing up you will go lean on a positive g manuver, if it is facing down you will go rich in positive g. Hopefully that helps and stay safe!
@frankandmarci That sounds right. when I was learning cuban 8's and basic loops...I would also practiced no less than a flight level of 100 to 120 feet.
Are you trying to loop from straight an level, then losing power as you pull up? Possibly a vapour lock situation..Are you running just the Mechanical fuel pump by any chance? The loop should be a 3 G pull up which is most easily accomplished by diving to 160kts then oulling..I do all my loops at 24 sq'd in the 7a this way.

@jdpainter LOL. Isn't that the truth. You roll inverted in a -6 with no pitch and the nose falls pretty quickly. ;)

hah used to do that sort of stuff with my grandpa in his plane.
His would yell and hollar with all sorts of alarms.
Too bad the people with 100k sports cars don't know planes kick 10x more ass in the aspect of fun.

Vne RV6 is I believe is around 210 or 212 statute, but I can't quite remember. Fast enough!
