Propably not... there are other ways to do it. There are some automated ways to merge, with scripts and propably plugins, but i made it "the old fashioned way", just to do it without any other helping scripts / tools.
If someone out there ha a nice alternative way to stitch terrain and road - please feel free to post a video or link. would be cool!

Is this the best / easiest was to merge the terrain with the road?

this might be a stupid question but how do u desgin a track? is there a tool you used? thanks

@poser077
Good question. No there, there is no tool for designing tracks the way i do it. I use references, photos of racingtracks from WTCC, F1, NASCAR and take them as inspiration, tweak them and model out that. After a while you've done couple racing tracks you can start to improvise and do your own design on paper or digitally draw them.

I use 3ds max primarily but couldn't you have just applied a noise modifier to the mesh in certain areas and then play with parameters instead of doing it manually. This may have free'd up some time. Again not sure, but its a possibility :)
Great video!

@Youshless
Yep, that is a good idea, and very useful. In this case i tried to illustrate the possibility, if you have already a concept that you may follow.
But otherwise your suggestion is great!
Cheers, and merry Xmas and happy New year!
