The West Coast of Scotland is one of the most beautiful locations in the world in which to go sailing. There's such a variety of conditions and scenery along with excellent facilities that yachtspeople flock to the area.
Every year, the Clyde Cruising Club organise what's known as the "Scottish Series". For the past 12 years, it's been sponsored by the investment company, Brewin Dolphin. It involved a series of races for yachts of all different sizes and classes over four days. In previous years, it's enjoyed some excellent weather and sailing conditions. But not this year when storms blew in from the Atlantic.
To get a flavour of what was involved, we joined one of the "committee boats" which help to manage the racing.
