Style Minute | Ep 050 | Leave Your Collar on the Inside of Your Suit Coat

It is never a good idea to have your shirt collar on the outside of your suit coat/blazer when in a business professional or business casual setting. Although we've see celebrities like John Travolta and Bradd Pitt wear this look in some very well-known movies, it's not a look that works for everyday style.

i like having collar in and a few more buttons unbuttoned, the white shirt makes it look weird though, try a v neck or no undershirt at all.

the collar isnt the only thing i noticed wrong ;)

its a rule if you will, to never button the bottom button. some even say its only ok in funerals.

if its a 1 button jacket then u can button it, however for two button jackets, only the top one, for 3 buttons only the top 2 etc.

this wasn't made popular by john Travolta but instead by a king

@mindbotling Thanks for the comments. You're absolutely correct about the number of buttons to button on a suit coat. In this episode I chose to button only the middle button of a three-button suit coat. That is also acceptable - it is used to simulate a longer lapel which you commonly see in a two-button suit coat.
