I like the fast set up! I love the lightweight and compact idea! I am short so remember to put the hammock up fairly high or you get a wet bum from touching the ground in the morning!

@mlndstream I think the knot tying is a little too fast, honestly. There shouldn't be a presumption that we're all sailors and know wth is going on here.

The knots really aren't very difficult. If you just pause and think about what the rope is going to do under tension, you can improvise a good knot (albeit not always a pretty one). Having never made a sliding knot before, I managed to figure one out in <2 minutes and had my rainfly tensioned and ready to go. And the main knot to suspend the hammock is stupidly easy--hell, you can even do it wrong and it'll still hold (speaking from 1st hand experience).

Truly, a squinty but rugged hero of our time. Thanks for the awesome hammock Tom! Even if it was made in China...

Its a beautiful hammock but I wouldn't say that its the most user friendly. You'd nearly have to be a seasoned navy man to tie all the needed knots. I think you should try adapting it for whoopie sling or slap straps like the ENO hammock uses.

that looks like one nice place to set up your
hennessy hammock. thanks tom:) any waves by any chance?
This is probably the best video you have made of how to set up the hammock, but detailed knot tying instructions should come with the hammock, like that sliding knot you used on the fly, or use tension straps instead, so a complete beginner at knots can set it up on their own the first time out camping with the hammock, I had trouble remembering how to tie them all when I got out there, to the great amusement of someone who had a very simple hammock to set up compared to mine
