Duck Soup played a selection of eclectic American jug, country, jazz and blues songs in various Perth western suburbs pubs in the 70s. Band members were generally studying at UWA as were the bulk of the fans. Such was Duck Soup's popularity, they were the first band to charge at the door. Female vocals, slide guitar, piano and harmonica provided a sophisticated sound compared to the raw blues and rock bands of the day. Venues included the Victoria in Subiaco, Governor Broome in Northbridge, Steves in Nedlands and the Albion in Cottesloe. The band broke up in 1977 but reformed briefly in 2004 with other bands of the period for an outdoor concert in Fremantle.
