ADVICE AND CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM WELCOME

This is the theme that plays over the title sequence in the unforgettable Super Nintendo videogame, Super Mario World.

Originally Composed by Koji Kondo, I arranged this by ear and multitracked my 3/4 classical guitar four times.

There are some rough parts and the video doesn't always sync up (I make some mistakes in the video which aren't apparent in the audio and vica versa). I blitzed this game 100% the other day and did this in celebration.

  • how do i have to read the tabs so i get the thing you play?

i can read tabs, but i can't get your notes out of that tab....

  • @enkhuizenddg Sorry, I was just looking through some old posts and realised that I never answered this question. The letters above each note denote the length of that particular note.

The problem with this tab is that it's actually four tabs (one for each of the instruments in the original piece). So, in order for it to sound correct you would have to do one of three things.

    1. Play along with the actual track, picking which instrument you'd like to play.

  • @slovibond 2. Play alongside three friends, each picking an instrument.

    3. Record yourself playing multiple times and play them all over each other as one track.

Hope this helps, if it doesn't then feel free to contact me.

  • Fantastic! the tab is for 2 guitars though, it's hard to tell...are you playing it on a single guitar or are you overdubbing the melody on top of the bass notes?

  • Four guitar tracks actually lol. One for each instrument in the original theme!

Because the bass is so deep in contrast to the melody, it would be quite hard for me to do it all on the one guitar.

Someone with more talent could do an arrangement though :o)

  • ... wow...
