@Penguindog55 a mate just picked one up last week, so I had a lot of nostalgic fun playing with it. When I had one before, I wasn't a keyboard player so I forgot how small the keys are. I may well gig with it midi'd to my DX7.

@stellarartwars07 I couldn't agree with you more, I would choose my PSS-790 over an MT-32 anyday. I have always preferred Yamaha piano sounds to Roland. The PSS-790 offered endless possibilities.

I have this keyboard, my parents bought it not long after it came out, just over 20 years ago. It's a very nice keyboard, I have quite a few videos on my channel where I used this keyboard.

I used to have a pss 795. I left it at a friend's house. I was told its still there. I am going to see if it is.

Yamaha have always been good at making these crossover toy/pro devices. For instance the midi spec was matched by few pro synths when this came out- combined with an atari computer you had a sound system capable of representing an orchestra. . The sound samples are a little different from the 590, doesn't have the e-piano sound, but the acoustic paino is very usable and better than the MT-32's , probably the most similar instrument (though no keyboard) Thank you for your demo.

Really hope I find one of these some day.

The PSS-790 is a very good and very advanced instrument especially for it's age, many of or even all of it's sounds are still useable today, other good use of features is you can use the vector synth to create your own sounds like a pan flute or even synth pads, or just create new sounds. You can also use the pitch bend wheel on the drum sounds to change the pitch and get more electronic sounding drums.
what outputs does the keyboard have?

@ClickForth The only outlets that it has is the Power outlet, Headphones/AUX out outlet and MIDI IN, OUT and THRU outlets.
Hope this helps :)
