This is a POWERFUL performance by the LD Bell Blue Raider Band! It's a tribute to our armed forces called "HONOR, We Will Remember". I love this show and everything it represents, and I'm so proud of the students and band directors who poured their heart and energy into this day after day, week after week. I shot this from the stands with my older SD digital camera on two different nights and put the two clips together. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have!

  • So what place did LD Bell get at grand nats? From what i hear Avon was first so did Bell get 2nd? Cause if they beat Marcus at grand nats Bell should have been Texas State Marching Champs!!! I felt they were winners from the first time i heard them in prelims at state!! Then finals i knew they had it in the bag! So when the judges said Marcus as champs i almost cried and i dont even go to LD Bell!!!

  • @DrummerMaine15 They got third at Grand Nats, and Broken Arrow got second with an 'Oz' theme. I don't think Marcus went to Grand Nats last year. I agree, though... thought this show was amazing!

  • They should have won. Granted Avon is always good, but a show that can silence the crowd, and make thousands of people sit there and watch, should be the winner every time.

  • wow. i love this show. makes me want to cry every time i watch it. That's an odd feeling from a Woodlands Band member ;) Looking forward to San Antonio this weekend

  • @Nimgimmer1492 I think it's a little pretentious of you to assume marching band has gotten "weird" because of drum corps. Drum corps is far more "normal" than BOA bands by your standards. Drum corps do not have nearly as much dancing, props, and gimmicks on the field as BOA bands. No drum corps "floats" members or has tarps covering half the field. Admittedly, drum corps staff may teach BOA bands and its not unreasonable to connect that with the performance quality in BOA bands...

  • Saw this at Grand Nats. It's the first show that ever made me cry. Absolute beauty.

  • I miss this, i can point myself out!!! I'm surprised I still remember the notes and drill!!! Oh the memories!!! I am to the left of the 50 yd line in the opening set....!!!!

  • Saw them at BOA San Antonio and they put me and nearly half of my band in tears.

  • I've actually been to the cemetery in Italy where the part with the gravestones is inspired by... It would have been even cooler if the headstones were in arcs instead of lines, like the ones in real life.

  • @821RedBaron sad thing is the judges have extreme favoritism. that could have boosted the scores of B.A and Avon, but still, Avons "Iconoclash" was one the greatest show I have ever seen in my life. It was low level DCI Quality.

  • @mrpepsidrink I agree, but with that in mind, I might have considered LD Bell for GE

  • What makes a good band?

  • @DrummerMaine15

L.D. Bell got 3rd at Grand Nationals.

Here was the top three placement:

    1. Avon H.S. from Avon, IN (Outstanding Music Performance, Outstanding General Effect)

    2. Broken Arrow H.S. from Broken Arrow, OK (Outstanding Visual Performance)

    3. L.D. Bell H.S. from Hurst, TX

Also, L.D. Bell got the outstanding music performance in semis.
