334 series locomotive with a Talgo train. Locomotive build by Vossloh with a V12 710 engine from EMD. These locomotives are very similar to English EWS Class 67 locomotives.
Okay.. Thanks! And i also noted that there are windows at the rear end of the train. Do these talgo-units also have a cab car function? (engineer controlling the pushing loco from the leading wagon)
I have seen it when doing service works like joining two Talgo compositions because of a higher passenger demand, or when positioning the train on the platforms in a terminal station. So you are right.
The last car has a diesel engine connected to an alternator to give electricity to the train (heating, air conditioning, ligths, ...). This solution permits the train to be completely autonomous. More recent Talgo high speed trains take the electricity from the locomotives, and the locomotives directly from the catenary.
