Kitzbuhel 2011

Last winter's snowboarding holiday in Austria Kitzbuhel. Hotel Jagerwirt. January, not Feb ( as it says in title ).
Chose 'Duck Sauce - Barbra Streisand' as soundtrack because we heard it everywhere.

@yellandracing33 We were there the last week of Jan. In Feb 2009 Kitz had 170cm average of snow. Feb just gone, it had 86cm average. This does not account for individual days though. But, the peaks and troughs are generally cyclic so, this winter there should be more snow than last winter. Keep praying to the great Snow Lord : )

I'm sure our trip will be fine as of the new snow making machines that cover large areas?

What dates did you go?

yellandracing33@ Sorry my comment isnt very encouraging is it? I'm sure it will be fine and you will have a fantastic time, as we did. The free ski bus can take you to lots of different areas to try out and find something you like ie, quiet slopes, parks, off piste. The apres ski was allright too. We found the people really friendly as well. All the best and have fun.

@yellandracing33 Yep, It doesnt have the best snow record.

Our experience was, when we first arrived the snow was OK, on the 2nd day ( if I remember correctly ) it started snowing and carried on for a couple of days. That gave us loads of powder and just off piste was amazing. The last 2 or 3 days was blue sky and sunny, this looked nice but, melted a lot of the snow. So by the time we left, the conditions were pretty poor.

With winter theres no guarentee. Just look at the Vancouver Olympics!!!

i'm going to kitzbuhel in february 10th-18th this year coming, but i'm worried that it wont snow, as i have read reviews about kitzbuhel being low altitude and that it's very unreliable snow there.. just wanted to know your thoughts?
