  • Wasnt this ´´flame out`` provoked in a good position over the field for a youtube landing? If it was away from the clear, in rocky terrain, the story would be different.

  • That is why those of us who fly rotorcraft, or any aircraft practice engine failures in anticipation of anything that may or may not occur.

  • his head looked close to the main rotors when he stood up at the end

  • My head was about 9" from the rotor disc while winding the main blades to secure them.

  • These seem more stable then an airplane yet easier to fly then a helicopter. I have experience in a Cessna 182 so how much different would this be to fly?

  • I also have time in a 182, C-210t and helicopter. This ship flies like a helicopter except it will not hover.

  • @ZeroVersionTwo The reason a helicopter has a second rotor is due to the fact that the main lift rotor is directly connected to the engine and is powered continuously. The motor spins the blades, but due to Newton's law of motion, causes the craft to spin in the opposite direction. Gryocopters' blades are not fixed to a motor and freespin in an effect called autorotation. This means gryocopters can fly without spinning unlike a helicopter that needs the tail rotor for control.

  • SOME FINE DRIVING. BRAVO.

  • @1KniTeMaRe The rotor blade will continue to spin due to the wind and the engine before the engine went off. The rotor will act like a glider giving you lift so you will decrease slowly and land safely rather than crash and die.

  • A giro is constantly in autorotation : not comparble with a helicopter..

  • For all you that have asked about the UFO. I would like to tell you that in fact ir was a UFO. Unfortunately, it was not a UFO. Instead it was aplastic grocery bag being blown by the wind.

  • We saw it before we noticed the comments. looks like a UFO for sure.

  • Thumbs up if you saw the UFO!!!

  • how does it remain flying while the engines out?

  • 2:32 Dude i would suggest stay sitting down intil the rotor completely stops. When you got out and stood up the rotor looked like it was 3 inches from hitting your head. Might protect your brain but it will break your neck and possibley jerk your head off.
