Wow, lucky you to get that back. What might've happened is that the receiver lost signal. I think the receiver is designed to follow the last command it received in case of a lost signal. You can try to reproduce it by putting the heli in a vice, fire it up, give it some cyclic, rudder and throttle while turning off the transmitter. All servos will probably stay in their positions and the motors will keep running...

I never thought i'd get it back, funny watching vid but wasn't funny at the time lol.
It had already lost signal though before switching the tx off and on, i tried everything else before switching off. A man who was walking his dog nearby at the time told me it was someone in the area with pirate radio running on 2.4ghz that caused it, he said he had an all singing and dancing tv that also run on 2.4ghz and that the pirate radio had affected his tv. I don't know about these things so i cant say
