Performed by: Zachary Gordin, baritone; Glen Shannon, alto recorder; Victoria Erlich, cello; Sheli Nan, piano. Recorded live at the concert "The Musical World of Sheli Nan". San Francisco Conservatory of Music. June 5, 2010
One of the most wonderful aspects of your music and concerts Sheli, is the variety to which the listener is offered. Like a small but ecologically diverse country, in the short span of an hour long concert, one can feel like they have visited dozens of different musical genres. I absolutely love your music and could easily listen to it all day.
I have a constant fever A peacock waiting to be Admired for my beauty, grace, and fidelity. I hear a melody My feathers turn Toward the one that I love A slow, dark burn Comes from my eyes As I engage You think it's lust It may be rage. The line between my love and hate The fever consumes my stately gait I run, I reach, I grasp, I take I love with passion This is your fate To love me back And try to quench My constant fever My constant thirst To have you ever put me first. - Sheli Nan 2008
