Awesome. I know my little bugger will do well with it. He makes funny noises all the time even when just seeing an unfamiliar object out of curiosity or while playing he'll talk to his toys and of course my other dog. He's also taking to learning commands very well. He's my first cairn and I'm quite happy that I was able to get one.

I can't believe I'm among the first to see this. Only 50 views? I think this is really cute and I like your dog's enthusiasm for the new President -Elect!

I keep watching this over and over. I have a cairn terrier puppy and I want to teach him to talk. Any tips?

Stage #2 training:
the previous message explains how she would Open her mouth on command. Verbal or hand signal.
THEN... as she would make a noise, any noise other than barking, I would praise like crazy and "jackpot" the treats... shovel them... so she really became motivated to repeat that target behavior.
yawning: she made a noise, and I told her "Good girl!"
