This song was hard to translate, so thanks a lot to racagamom for help with this one! :)
One interesting thing I found out about this song is that the lyrics are actually Dero's version of a poem written in 1912 by Gottfried Benn entitled "Requiem". I included the poem at the bottom.

Auf jedem Tisch liegt bleiche Haut
So still und starr und ohne Qual
Den Schädel auf die Brust entzwei
Der Leib gebährt zum letzten Mal

Die Näpfe voll mit Fett und Hirn
Aus Gottes Tempel, Teufels Stall
Nun Kopf an Kopf auf blankem Boden:
Paradies und Sündenfall*

Der Rest in Eimer lauter Fehlgeburten
Haare vom Greis

Was früher Groß wird winzig klein
Das Herz entflammt zum letzen mal

Man sieht nur Asche lauter Staubgeborne
tanzen umher
Ein Häufchen Schmutz auf feuerfesten Bahren** im Flammenmeer
Wenn du die Antwort suchst auf alles, was dich quält
Menschen sind geboren zu sterben

Feuer...
---------------------
Upon every table lies pale skin
So still and rigid and without torment
The skull upon the chest is broken
The body gives birth for the last time

The bowls are full with fat and brains
From God's temple, the Devil's stable
Now head to head on the bare floor:
Paradise and the Fall of Man*

The rest is in buckets full of still-borns,
hairs from the old man,
and the blood of girls who once sold themselves to fat flesh
If you're seeking the answer to all that torments you
Humans were born to die

We're weaved in here for a short time
and then we lose our thread again
We're weaved in here for a short time
and then they burn our cold limbs

The doors are shut, the switches are on
The flesh leaves the Vale of Tears*
What was once big becomes very small
The heart enflames for the last time

You'll only see ashes born from dust
dancing around
A pile of dirt upon fireproof biers** in the sea of flames
If you're seeking the answer to all that torments you
Humans were born to die

*Biblical references

**a "Bahre" refers to the type of stand or cart on which a corpse
or coffin containing a corpse is placed before burial.

"Requiem" by Gottfried Benn

Auf jedem Tische zwei. Männer und Weiber
kreuzweis.

  • i noticed a mistake:

    "Der Schädel auf,die Brust entzwei"

doesnt mean the skull upon the chest is broken. it basicly means :the skull is cracked open and the chest has been torned into two halves(i hope you get what i mean since my english is not perfect) "entzwei" is an adjective wich can be used without a verb, same with "auf". "auf" can mean "upon" but it can also mean "open" as in "cracked open" when used toghether with the skull.

  • oh, i didn't know there was supposed to be a comma there between "auf" and "die." That really does make a big difference in how the sentence is interpreted, :D. Thanks a lot for pointing that out.

This song really was hard to translate, took a while and had to get help from some native german speakers as well

  • @Knighterik jajajajaaj xDDD

  • oh es tan sexy me hace tener pensamientos sucios xD

  • @HappyIsFleeting meh didn't say you were, just forget I said anything is the main point I am trying to make.

  • @Gadget1200 Okay? I'm not pro life either but im not a misanthrope.

  • @HappyIsFleeting lol, I removed that line because I don't like sounding like some shit head trying to be pro life! I'm anything of the sort.

  • @Gadget1200 Yes, that is the law of life. One must die so another can begin anew but life is, after all, meaningless. And no, I'm not Goth, Emo, whatever, I'm just a pothead with a lot of thinking to do.

  • @Gadget1200 Born to die means that you're pretty much useless. after the first time listening the the song my reaction was, "well, fuck this life"

  • @Guillhez lol, hey this song is funny as hell, what do you mean go "suiciding after listening to this song"?

  • To prevent suiciding after listening to this song go and listen "Geboren um zu Leben" from Unheilig
