I wrote and recorded this song for my mum in 2004, when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Thought I'd try putting some images to it - hope you enjoy :) (As regards my warbling, be kind!)
Lyrics:
Climbed some mountains in my time
Crossed some valleys on the way
No guarantee the sun would shine
As I went further on my way
But I've seen your world
And I've seen your Word
And I feel safe in your hands.
I've had days long, rough and raw
Days that seemed to have no end
Heartache never known before
Surely scars too deep to mend;
But I've seen your world
And I've seen your Word
And I feel safe in your hand.
And tho' you paint the sky as though it were a canopy
And tho' you scatter lightning to the depths of the sea,
I'm engraved on your palms
And I'm held in your arms
When the world forgets you're in control
And runs riot in its own chaotic way
Still you light the path for each rebellious soul
And you long for us to say
That we've seen your world
And we've seen your Word
And we feel safe in your hands, safe in your hands
And we feel safe in your hands.
