I tried everything that I found online & nothing worked... UNTIL I spent $3.96 on eBay for a new (front) camera & changed it. Another symptom of my problem is that the FlashLight app wouldn't work. NOW EVERYTHING WORKS LIKE NEW!!!

Hey folks I had the same problem and I pressed the top button and the home button for a while after that it reset everything and the shutter started to work fine but I did held the buttons for a while around 4 to 5 minutes.

Does your replacement camera focus on text(words) when taking pictures because mine doesn't?? Thanks

caion11, sorry but I can't help you about the front camera... But when it happened with my rear camera I tried everything posted at the Internet, but nothing worked... I'm sure the problem in my case was in the hardware.

Olá fabiowakisaka, que azar cara não funcionar a do ebay... Quanto a do ifixit eu não paguei impostos não porque o valor total, incluindo o frete, não passou de USD 50,00. Se passar voce paga.
Espero ter ajudado.

@iGadgetsReview4 Happened the same thing with my iPhone.... I guess you will need to replace the rear camera... No big deal because it's not so hard to do it. I did it myself with my kid (10-years-old) helping me. Go to the iFixit website, buy the a new rear camera and a couple of instruments needed (it is not expensive) and fix it yourself. I'm a surgeon with no experience in electronics repair and I did it, thus, everyone can do it.
