From: Rebirth: Part 2

The debut of the Headmasters' new powers, in a stunning display.

Naturally enough, the entire Japanese Headmasters series is centered around them, however the nature of the Headmasters themselves is somewhat different.

While Arcee appears in the Japanese series, turning her into a Headmaster was a US-only thing - easy to do when she doesn't have a toy. (There were concept sketches of a repaint of Chromedome as an Arcee Headmaster, but this never went ahead; obviously this would have been a Hasbro exclusive.)

  • what season did they show up

  • The Headmasters first appeared in "season 4". However it is a 3-episode mini-series.

  • Arcee is a headmaster too?

  • Yes. In "Rebirth" anyway. Hasbro toyed around with doing a redeco of Chromedome as Arcee, but it never eventuated. At this point, they could pretty much do whatever they wanted in the cartoon anyway, since it was winding up for good.

  • I'm a big G1 fan for such a young age but It kind of sucks that they ended G1 here in america with Rebirth but continued with Headmasters in japan.

  • Say what you will about Seasons 3 and 4 of The Transformers, the music was kickass, especially during the fights. :D

  • Being a kid at the time it was cool but as an adult. Great parenting on Spike and Carly's part letting their son go off with the Autobots and participate in attacks. Gotta love the 80's!!

  • Am I the only one who thinks Arcee would have made more sense as a Targetmaster?

  • @StarFighters76 : He's Hardhead. He's just too damned stubborn to stop shooting. :)

  • To bad the Powermaster's never showed up in this

  • Here's a problem. If the Autobots can't operate in robot mode without their Headmaster partners, how is Hardhead (the green one) able to stand in robot mode blasting away when his partner already detached from him?

  • Epic memories coming back right now. ^^
