From "Unknown Chaplin", the documentary by Kevin Brownlow & David Gill, 1983, voiceover narration by James Mason.

This excerpt shows Chaplin in a Douglas Fairbanks home movie. There is also footage showing Chaplin guest conducting the Abe Lyman orchestra (the tune is called "With you, dear, in Bombay") and performing various tricks at parties, including the famous dance of the rolls.

  • Nowadays what passes for 'humor' is profanity or a man getting hit in the groin. We need Chaplin today instead of 'comics' who never were funny and are still not funny. For example, Chevy Chase in a Superbowl commercial.
