GLOBAL WARMING OR COOLING? GLOBAL WARMING OR COOLING? Many discussions about many things. Weather is one of them. There are three things that have an impact on what I now believe to be global cooling. First I now belive according to statistics that the gulf stream had already began to cool prior to this year. Secondly the low sunspot activity has always had a direct effect on cooler temps on earth. (the farmers almanac is based on this and a mathmatical calculation). The third thing is bound to the first. Global cooling would have taken years had it not been for the BP accident,(yes it was a accident) it was based on greed yet still an accident. The volume of oil still in the gulf and the amount of chemicals sprayed to disperse the oil has at the least hampered the gulf loop and all but stopped the gulf stream in the upper reaches of the atlantic where it crosses over to europe. It is no longer there according to satilite views and heat seeking photos. What we are left with is this. Colder winters, actually started last year getting progressively worse and with the damage to the gulf stream now the jet stream which depends on it for some guidence has reacted in weird patterns. The heat wave in Moscow, Europe freezing to death, The US north east and a good portion of the south recieving 2 to 3 times the normal freezing weather. Snow in the summer in the land down under, a snow storm in both Turkey and Iran. Under sea earth quakes. On and On. Prepair yourselves. If the winters continue into the late spring or early summer the crops will go in late and many will fail as surely an early winter will follow. The north will freeze and have to head south in search of food, many will freeze but more still could starve. This may happen all over the world. The US can sustain itself but we wont be able to send aid to the rest of the world. Watch and wait, dont be caught off guard. It may be a mild cool down. Some facts; If the projected cool down is accurate we will enter a time that is in comparison to the 1800's. In Beaumont Texas in 1895 (where we get generally no snow) there were blizzards. Temps dropped to single digits and people literally froze to death. It snowed 31 inches in 24 hours here in the late 1800's. This is the worry. If it can get that cold in the south. What will the north be like?

  • I believe There is more than enough information based on projections of future climate change which is based in historical climate change. History repetes itself especially in relation to this world . We use the terms,a cycle has completed and it is now time for this or that. Katrina, Rita, Ike, Global warming, now global cooling. Its what happens. Sun spot count in early 2000's, 100+. Now under 50 and a period over 51 days sun spot count was ZERO. All I am saying is be prepaired just in case.

  • In reference to Keith Strong I have never heard of the guy. I find it hard to believe that the government could involve themselves in so dark a mission and have so many go along. It's not impossible but highly unlikely, in my humble opinion.

  • True, it seems global cooling and change doesnt occur immediately in all areas. Actually some parts of the world today are in their summer. That is why snow in australia last month is so awsome. Its their summer. Now in reference to canada and greenland it seems that there is where the blocking area has set up in the jet stream. I am not a science major but what we call warm in canada and greenland is still cold.Just not as cold as normal.

  • Here in Victoria, Australia we have had the coldest summer in decades,k not just wettest. The tomatoes are still green on the bush and where did summer go?? March 2011 Circa.

  • I wonder why Accuweather only showed the US? perhaps because Canada, greenland, E siberia, middle east, africa, asia and south america were all above average.
